First Baptist Church has been serving the people of Mounds since they started way back in 1902! The church is made up of people of all ages with many different backgrounds.
FBC worship services offer biblically based messages and a blended style of worship singing contemporary choruses as well as traditional hymns.

Church Leadership
Steve Lewis - Pastor
Pastor Steve has been married to LeeAnn for 41 years. They have 2 children - Paul and his wife Emily and Julie and her husband Sam along with 7 grandsons! Pastor Steve came to FBC in February of 2024.
Kirk DeWees - Worship
Kirk has served at FBC since November of 2023, but has also served with the church several years ago as Worship Pastor. Kirk loves baseball along with the Iowa State Cyclones and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Mirandy Ford - Youth
Mirandy has been married to Rob since 2002. They have 5 children and 2 grandchildren. Mirandy has served as the Youth Leader at FBC Mounds since 2018 and loves to disciple students as they grow in their relationship with Christ.
Kathy Knox - Children
Kathy has led the children's ministry at FBC for over 30 years! She also selflessly serves and ministers to ladies in our church and community. Kathy was also married to the late Dick Knox who served as pastor at FBC for 27 years.
Vicki Burgard - Secretary
Vicki is married to Peter and has served at FBC since 2001! They have 3 children and love to travel and often serve on FBC mission teams.
